Stephen Decatur was a prominent United States Navy commodore known for
his heroic actions during the Barbary Wars and the War of 1812. He was
born on 05 January 1779, in Sinepuxent, Maryland, and he died on 22 March
1820. Stephen Decatur played a significant role in early American
naval history and is remembered for his bravery and leadership.
