23 September - Celebrate Bisexuality Day

Bisexuality Day, also known as Celebrate Bisexuality Day, is observed annually on 23 September The day was first established in 1999 by three prominent bisexual rights activists: Wendy Curry, Michael Page, and Gigi Raven Wilbur, to raise awareness and celebrate the bisexual community, which often faces invisibility and erasure within both the LGBTQ+ community and society at large.

The purpose of Bisexuality Day is to recognize and affirm the existence, experiences, and contributions of bisexual people while also highlighting the unique challenges they face, such as bisexual erasure, stereotypes, and biphobia. It is part of Bi+ Awareness Week (also known as Bisexual Awareness Week), which runs from 16 to 23 September , culminating in Bisexuality Day.

Events and activities on this day often include educational campaigns, social gatherings, and online discussions aimed at promoting bisexual visibility and inclusion. It is a day for bisexual individuals and their allies to come together and celebrate their identity, fostering a sense of pride and community.
