Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), also known as Indraprastha University, was established on 28 March 1998. It was founded by the Government of Delhi under the provisions of the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Act, 1998. Named after the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh, the university aims to facilitate and promote higher education with a focus on professional education and research.
