General Bipin Rawat was born on March 16, 1958.He was an Indian Army General who served as the 27th Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army. He was appointed to this position on December 31, 2016, succeeding General Dalbir Singh Suhag. Bipin Rawat held the position of Chief of Army Staff until December 31, 2019.
He was known for his extensive experience in counter-insurgency operations and held various important command and staff appointments throughout his military career. General Bipin Rawat played a significant role in shaping the Indian Army's modernization efforts and strategic planning during his tenure as Chief of Army Staff. He died on 08 December 2021.
