Pramukh Swami Maharaj, whose birth name was Shantilal Patel, was a prominent spiritual leader and the fifth spiritual successor of Bhagwan Swaminarayan in the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS), a major sect within the Swaminarayan tradition of Hinduism.
