Gopinath Bordoloi, also known as "Lokapriya" (beloved by the people) Bordoloi, was a prominent Indian freedom fighter and politician from the state of Assam. He played a crucial role in India's struggle for independence and later became the first Chief Minister of Assam after independence.

He was born on June 6, 1890, in Raha, in the Nagaon district of Assam, India. He was actively involved in the Indian independence movement from a young age and participated in various civil disobedience movements and protests against British rule.

He is widely regarded as one of Assam's most respected and beloved leaders. He was a visionary and a staunch advocate of unity and secularism. He is remembered for his selfless service to the people of Assam and his significant contributions to the state's development and integration into independent India.

He passed away on August 5, 1950, leaving behind a lasting legacy and a deep impact on Assam's political and social landscape. He is fondly remembered and honored in Assam and across India for his immense contributions to the nation.
