USA: National Onion Rings Day 22 June

National Onion Rings Day is observed on June 22nd of every year in United States of America (USA). National Onion Rings Day celebrate the rich and crisp Onion rings. 21 June - Father's Day

Father's Day (or Fathers' Day) is a day of honoring fatherhood and paternal bonds, as well as the influence of fathers in society. In Catholic countries of Europe, it has been celebrated on March 19 as Saint Joseph's Day since the Middle Ages. In America, Father's Day was founded by Sonora Smart Dodd,and celebrated on the third Sunday of June for the first time in 1910. It is held on various days in many parts of the world all throughout the year, often in the months of March, May and June.

Father's day complements similar celebrations honoring family members, such as Mother's Day, Siblings Day and Grandparents' Day.

21 June - International yoga day

The International Day of Yoga has been celebrated annually on 21 June since 2015, following its inception in the United Nations General Assembly in 2014.

Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice which originated in India. The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, in his UN address suggested the date of 21 June, as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and shares a special significance in many parts of the world.

The first International Day of Yoga created a record for the largest yoga class, and another for the largest number of participating nationalities.

Origin :
The idea of International Day of Yoga was first proposed by the current Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), on 27 September 2014. He stated:

Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help in well being. Let us work towards adopting an International Yoga Day.

Following this initial proposal, the UNGA held informal consultations on the draft resolution, entitled "International Day of Yoga", on 14 October 2014. The consultations were convened by the delegation of India.

21 June - World Music Day

World Music Day is a celebration of all things related to music. It originated in France, where there is an event called La Fête de la Musique (Music Festival).

On Music Day the citizens of a city or country are allowed and urged to play music outside in their neighborhoods or in public spaces and parks. Free concerts are also organized, where musicians play for fun and not for payment.

The first all-day musical celebration on the day of the summer solstice was originated by Jack Lang, Minister of Culture of France, as well as by Maurice Fleuret; it was celebrated in Paris in 1982. Music Day later became celebrated in 120 countries around the world.

June 21 - Solar Eclipse 2020

A solar eclipse occurs when the sun, moon and the earth come in a straight line. If at that moment, the moon is furthest away from the earth in its elliptical orbit, it will not cover the disc of the sun completely. This produces a ring of light around the dark silhouette of the moon.

The annular eclipse, often called the 'ring of fire' is set to take place on June 21, 2020. Commonly termed as 'Surya Grahan', the Solar Eclipse 2020 is a phenomenon awaited by scores of skygazers and will be the first Surya Grahan of this year.

World Juggling Day -20 June

World Juggling Day is celebrated on a Saturday which is closet to June 17th. This year the World Juggling Day is celebrated on the 20th of June. World Juggling Day is celebrated to honor the Jugglers around the world as it is also one of the best and difficult artworks. Juggling doesn’t depend on things and it can be done with many things and there are jugglers who do risky juggling as well. Juggling requires amazing skill and artwork which is not for everyone. Jugglers are passionate about juggling and they practice very hard to do juggling.

20 June - World Refugee Day

World Refugee Day, international observance observed June 20 each year, is dedicated to raising awareness of the situation of refugees throughout the world.

Refuge Day stamps are issued to bring attention to the hardships of millions of people who were still displaced.

On 4 December 2000, the United Nations General Assembly in Resolution 55/76 decided that, from 2000, 20 June would be celebrated as World Refugee Day. In this resolution, the General Assembly noted that 2001 marked the 50th anniversary of the 1951 Convention relating to the Status of Refugees.[1] It is commemorated to honor all refugees, raise awareness and solicit support.

20 June - Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus opened in 1887

20 June 1887 – Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (station code: CSTM (mainline)/ST (suburban)  ,formerly know as Victoria Terminus (station code: BBVT/VT) , opened in Mumbai (Formerly Bombay).

It is a historic terminal train station and UNESCO World Heritage Site in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

The terminus was designed by British born architectural engineer Frederick William Stevens, in an exuberant Italian Gothic style. Its construction began in 1878, in a location south of the old Bori Bunder railway station, and was completed in 1887, the year marking 50 years of Queen Victoria's rule, the building being named, Victoria Terminus.

The station's name was changed to Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (station code CST) in March 1996 to honour Shivaji, the 17th-century founder of the Maratha Empire, whose name is often preceded by Chhatrapati, a royal title. In 2017, the station was again renamed Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (code CSTM), where Maharaj is also a royal title. However, both the former initials "VT" and the current, "CST", are commonly used.

The terminus is the headquarters of India's Central Railway. It is one of the busiest railway stations in India,serving as a terminal for both long-distance- and suburban trains.

The Ariane Passenger PayLoad Experiment (APPLE), was an experimental communication satellite with a C-Band transponder launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation on June 19, 1981 by Ariane, a launch vehicle of the European Space Agency (ESA) from Centre Spatial Guyanais near Kourou in French Guiana.

19 June - Kuwait gained independence in 1961

June 19, 1961, The day, when Kuwait gained independence from British.
It marks a great event in Kuwait's history, as it was the day the Gulf state gained its independence after being a British protectorate since the agreement was signed in 1899 by the seventh Amir, Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah, and Britain.

Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, the eleventh Amir of Kuwait, came to realize that, in light of changes, Kuwait had come to have sufficient resources and that its people could no longer tolerate the limitations of being a British protectorate, and thus made the initiative to substitute it with an agreement of friendship.

Thus, on June 19, 1961, the British government cancelled the agreement of January 23, 1899, on grounds that it conflicted with Kuwait's independence and sovereignty and signed the declaration of independence, bringing Kuwait into a new era.
